In Response to Falling asleep at the cake.:
Hi Im new to the forums, I didn't see a place to introduce ourselves so I thought I would jump right in with a funny story. It's actually a cake decorating story. I just started working part time for a bakery and was making a wedding cake for them for the first time. I had a bad earache starting. It was around the holidays and we were pretty stressed so I asked a co worker for an Advil or Tylenol and he handed me the container. I took one quickly, without looking at the label(dumb) So I am decorating this 4 tiered cake and having some trouble leveling and decorating the finer designs. I was having trouble focusing and just then the guy who gave me the stuff came into the room and picked up the container. He said " Oh no these are Advil PM's ' Well that explained the focus problem. the container actually said on it" helps you to sleep and stay aslepp" and I was feeling pretty darn sleepy. And to top it off it's New Years Eve. Luckily one of my co decorators was able to lend a hand and make the drop strings for me. And the cake turned out pretty nice even though it did have a slight lean to it. Turns out the bride was so happy with the cake she emailed the bakery the next day to thank them. Phew!!! My first impression as a newly hired employee with the bakery turned out ok. But I was in bed by 7:30 on New Years Eve! That stuff really works! Does anyone else here decorate cakes or make wedding cakes?
