When I was a little girl I loved when my grandma watched me and she would make pies. She would make the crust from scratch and whatever was left me and my sister would take it and put the crust in mini pie pans and put a cinnamon disc candy in it and make cinnamon pies. Sometimes when she had cinnamon and sugar mix left over we would sprinkle it on our pies. Best of all she would put them in the oven and bake them for a few minutes just so we could say we baked a pie.

Whne we had leftover pie crust we would make all different shapes and sprinkle to cutouts with cinnamon and sugar. That was always our special treat.

My mother and grandmother both did this same thing with the leftover pie crust. I do it, and to this day my boys who are in their 20's still can't wait until they are out of the oven to eat them.

My mom would cut the left over pie crust into strips, sprinkle them with cinnamon and sugar and back them. What a nice memory

When my mother and grandmother made pies we would spread a little butter on the leftover pie crust and then sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar. We would then roll them like cinnamon rolls, cut into bite size pieces and them bake.

We always still to this day make pin-wheels w/peanut butter, cinnamon & sugar or sometimes butter, cinnamon and sugar. These are just as good as the pies.

Children aren't the only ones who enjoy this treat. My husband thinks I make the best pie crust and looks forward to this little "extra."

I always loved to make "cinnamon snails" (pinwheels) with my mom's leftover pie crust - yum! This reminds that I haven't yet done this with my daughters. I am not much of a pie baker, but this sounds too good not to share with them.

That was a nice memory you have with your grandmother.
