Since I can remember in my child hood my dad's side of the family got together at Thanksgiving at my grandmother's place to see where we were going to have Christmas and it would start with my mom and my aunt starting the baking of the cookies one of the first things that they made were Buckeye (peanut butter balls dipped into a chocolate coating) then everyone went shopping for us kids. God bless my grandmother's heart she put up with for a nite or two well our parents either had to work or going shopping

Thats a great memory. I can remember the big dinners and family got together. Those were the good days when food tasted better. It tasted like homemade and not commercial. Its really nice that you still carry on a family tradition.

What a great memory of your family. I hope you are keeping up the tradition by making peanut butter balls before starting your Christmas Shopping.

Great story. It reminded me of my childhood with family get togethers.
