My two daughters and I were getting ready to bake Christmas cookies like we do together every year. My youngest daughter wasn't quite sure how to use the food processor. She went to empty what she had processed into her mixing bowl, but forgot to take the blades out. As she was adding it to the mixer(that was already going) she noticed the blade starting to fall into the mixer bowl. She reached to turn off the mixer quickly, but the blade touch the beaters and popped out onto the floor. She quickly backed up, but ended up stepping on the blade. She sliced the base of her right big toe. We ended up spending most of the morning in the "ER" stitching her back up. Needless to say, the Doctors and Nurses got a good laugh out of the whole episode. She was incapacitated for the rest of our baking day. By the end of the day, she was sitting on a chair with her foot on a stool elevated. We would bring her cookies already to put onto cookie sheets and she was our designated cookie sheet applier. We made best of the situation. She was on crutches for about two weeks because she couldn't apply any pressure to that area. Luckily she has no damage to the toe. She just has a good story to tell her children in the future.
