My mother used a dark pan to make me and my 5 siblings brownies one evening on the farm. While we were eating them, little brown sprinkles were falling off the bottom once in a while. We said how we liked the sprinkles and mom said she didn't add any. After further inspection, mom figured out we were eating mouse poop! We stopped eating them right away and tried to spit them out as fast as we could! To this day, we always talk about mom's mouse poop brownies.

Funny. It is amazing that no one vomited. How long were the brownies out before you ate them?

That story pretty much tops them all! However I can sympathize. I grew up on a farm in Iowa and was taught very early to always check the pots and pans and wipe them out before using...now I know why! Even now, 50 some years later, I check the pots and pans. And I live in Southern California where mice are very rare!

I'll bet that's one you'll never forget Jamie !  Years ago a mouse surprised my husband while he was in the shower.  I freaked when he woke me up at 6 am to tell me about it.  We had a couple of bad days before we finally found where it came in and sealed it shut.  Never saw that darn thing again, thank goodness.  I can't imagine living on a farm where they are more prevelant.
