When I was a teenager( waaaayy back when) baking chocolate chip cookies was something sweet to do for your boyfriend. One weekend I wanted to give my current beau some cookies. My 3 closest friends came over and we were going to have a baking event. We purchased all the ingredients and set up in my kitchen. As girls do we were talking and laughing as we worked. After what seems like a long time we had a counter full of beautiful cookies, We each grabbed a warm cookie and happily chomped away. Suddenly we all started laughing hysterically. We had totally forgotten the chocolate chips !!!! Later when the boys came over we told them these were a new recipe called Chipless Cookies. They ate them and we laughed for a long time. Those were the days.

Sounds like good times! Brings back memories of my teenage years, which I would like to believe wasn't that long ago! ;*)

I guess you got to eat the chocolate chips without cookies?  That sounds like a lot of fun too.

What a cute story.  Years ago I would take the chocolate chip bag out of the pantry only to find the puffed out bag only contained 3 or 4 chips.  My husband and son had eaten them and left the puffed bag on the shelf.  I guess I coould have baked chipless cookies too!!

hee hee -- I love chipless cookies and just two days ago made myself a batch.  I use that recipe and add piles and piles of coconut and way too many pecans.

I did the same thing so I just put a few chips on the top of each cookie and let them melt slightly.  I called then inside out chocolate chip cookies

If I'm going to eat the cookie, it's got to have the chocolate.

I also like the idea of melting a few chips on top. Thanks Elsa!

Great story!  Fast thinking calling them chipless cookies LOL.

I've had to improvise once or twice when "somebody" ate all the chocolate chips lol.
