My daughter and I were working in our kitchen at home on some of the many Christmas cookies that I make every year. I always use my electric stand up mixer so that they mix really well. At the time my daughter (KC) had very long hair. She got a little to close to the mixer (I think she was trying to sneek a finger full of batter) and her hair went into the batter and instantly wrapped around the beaters. I just heard her scream and the mixer motor grinding. I turned quickly and shut it off. Luckily we were able to get her hair out of the mixer with out cutting it although it took a long long time. After all calmed down we just laughed and laughed when we discuss this event and remember the looks on our faces and the weight of her hair holding up that heavy mixer and all that cookie batter in her hair. Since then she has cut 10-12 inches off her hair. I don't think this happening had anything to do with that descision. Oh, by the way we did toss the batter and start over I didn't think our family would enjoy chocolate chip hair cookies! LOL KC still loves to bake with me and every time we bake cookies we can bring up that memory and have a great laugh.
