My husband and I love the 7 grain bread that we buy at the store. One Christmas he bought me a wheat grinder and a large mixer with dough hooks. I decided to make some bread with my regular wheat bread recipe, but I thought I would be very clever and add a few other grains. I ground up every grain I could find in my house, barley, wheat, rice, corn. I made the bread and sweetened it with honey. I let it rise and put it in the oven. Oh how good it smelled as it baked. I could hardly wait to taste it. When it was finished baking, I took it out of the oven and, instead of finding a light bread, I found a very heavy brick of bread. Several of them. It did taste good, but it was so heavy that my family wouldn't eat it. My husband told me to put it in the freezer. He said, "If we can't eat it, maybe we can build a house with it." I'd have cried if I hadn't agreed with him. Now we laugh about it.
