My parents were going out and they told me to turn on the oven and bake the canned ham. I did. I did not take the ham out of its container and the ham exploded in the oven. I was not told to open the canned ham first. I was 12 years old at the time. Whew, what I mess! But in spite of that, I am a good cook today.

That story is so funny. It just shows that full instructions are necessary, don't ever assume things. Thanks for sharing your disaster.

We laugh about the instructions on the frozen pizza box. "Remove pizza from box before baking".

I hope that the instructions went further about what to do with the pizza.  Otherwise, which do you bake?  The pizza or the box?

Maybe if they hadn't said "canned" ham ...........hmmmmmmm LOL.  Sounds like nobody got hurt, so that was good. Great story!

When I got my first microwave I figured out how fast, clean and neat it would be to "boil" eggs in that machine.  I learned a lot that day.
