I remember going over to my friends house in the 2nd grade. We were going to make a cake for her party using a strawberry cake mix. I was so excited to use an electric blender for the first time! I mixed the cake up just fine, but didn't know that I was supposed to shut the mixer off before lifting the beaters from the batter and when I did, the strawberry batter flew everywhere!! This was even brought up at our 20th class reunion.

That's an example of "Live and Learn". (Hope you cleaned up the mess.)

After many years of mixing without too many mishaps I bought a new hand mixer and the button which I thought released the beaters was actually labeled spurt. Batter went everywhere and I vowed to always read instructions before using any appliance.
