Everytime I'd go to my grandmother's, who we called MaMa,farm to spend the night ( or the week in the summer ) she'd always cook a big meal for supper. But it was more to it than that, we'd get up early and go pick the garden as she said, and then we'd shell butterbeans or snap stringbeans in the afternoon. When it got on time for her to start supper I can always remember making biscuits with her..I'd stand on a little chair since I wasn't tall enough to reach the counter and watch her sift the flour and add the buttermilk and pat out the biscuits...she'd give me little peices of dough and let me pat some out too even though mine were ugly compared to the ones she did...and when the pans were full she'd let me sift the flour again to get out any remaining dough and I'd get to munch on it ( sounds gross but it was really good ) ... It seemed that when we were baking, or cooking together things were simpler, and always so much fun I couldn't wait to go back to stay with her again!

What a great memory you have and it will stay in your heart forever. Life was so much simpler then and although your grandmother worked hard every day she always made time for you.

What a heartwarming memory. They are the ones that stick with us no matter how old we get. I am
sorry that life is so fast paced today.
