My mom is one of the best in the kitchen! Her love of cooking was passed on to the four of us girls. I remember "helping" her make cream puffs. She made them for no particular reason or occasion...just when a whim hit her. She always allowed us girls to help...especially removing the insides of the cream puffs getting ready for the whipped cream, vanilla or chocolate pudding or whatever she decided to fill them with. There never seemed to be any insides left by the time the cream puffs were done...LOL. Thanks Mom for the special memories.

Cream puffs!!! I remember my mom making them too. She used to put pudding in the middle. My favorite was chocolate with powdered sugar on top.

In the past I knew so little about cooking, especially baking, that when I saw my first cream puff recipe I tried it.   It worked and I thought it was easy.  lol lol .
Sometimes I filled them with ice cream and tossed into the freezer -- drizzled with chocolate sauce they made a very good dessert.

Great memory. I love cream puffs.  Unfortunately they love to stick around, mostly on my body lol.  Great idea Nancy, may have to try them with ice cream soon.

Thanks for reminding me of this fun dessert to make. It's been many years since I've made them. My sons enjoyed them with chocolate or lemon pudding stuffed inside.

My Mom used to make homemade cream puffs from scratch.  The vanilla custard filling had corn starch in it.  Yum!!

I never could get any pastry to be flakey enough to suit me.  So I have to buy them at the donut store.

Thanks for the story.  A recipe would be good.  I've done a lot of baking and cooking, but never made cream puffs.
