When we were growing up living in Tampa, Fla, we were poor, as a lot of people in the 40s were. We couldn't afford to buy candy, it was a luxury, so mom got some sticks (don't know where) and she mixed sugar, water, a touch of coloring and some cinnamon. She laid the sticks on wax paper, and after cooking the mix to hard ball stage, she poured just a little over each stick. Instant lollipop after cooling. my brother and I loved them.
