When my first kids were small I used to bake with them all the time,it was the greatest bonding experience. Eventually I got new neighbors and the little boy wanted so badly to be able to play here like all the other kids. I convinced his mom he would be fine and started baking cookies with him, chocolate chip of course. That little boy is now 20 years old and six foot 6 and over 300 pounds but he still loves to bake with Aunt Lisa as I have come to be known in the following years. Now we bake with my little girl and my grandsons too.
I have a new generation of bakers including a baby girl that decided she had to help roll out some dough like the big kids who were 5 and 6.

Thanks for sharing your story with us. Your love of baking will be memorable for many generations who were taught in your kitchen.

very nice memory! I love spending time in the kitchen with my sisters and nieces and great nieces! We have the most fun and yes, bonding time. I don't have grand children yet, but look forward to baking with them.
The kids that I have babysat, I have made ginger bread houses at Christmas!

A very sweet story!  It is amazing how quickly they grow up, but now you have a new generation to teach baking.  The art won't get lost!

My son said we would baked so much together that he would never marry anyone connected to food.  He married a French chef!  LOL

My sons always helped me bake in the kitchen when they were little.  Both live on their own and both know how to cook.  My youngest son baked the cookies the last two years because I needed two knee replacements which I had last year (plus my husband has MS).  Everyone told him how great the cookies were and his reply was---I learned from the Best!!!
