I remember wwaaayyy back in the day when my grandmother was alive. (Sadly she dies when I was 22 at 99 years of age) She lived a long good live. When I was very young, I remember her teaching me how to make tortillas before I was 5. She taught me how to make them from scratch and how she mades several balls of dough so when she wanted a tortilla all she had to do was take out a ball, roll it out on a flowed board, then cook it on the stove. I'll tell you, I'm glad for my Spanish heritage from my mothers side. You have not had a tortilla unless you've had one from scratch.

Glad you were able to learn how to make them from your grandmother.  Keep the memories you have of her.

My maternal grandmother was an inspiration to me as well. She VERY PATIENTLY taught me how to sew, crochet and knit. She was one of the most loving and forgiving people I have ever experienced. I keep her memory alive by trying to emulate her kind soul.

I know what you mean. Learning how to make special heritage meals is wonderful. Mine was spaghetti sauce, ravioli, etc. Thanks  Grandma and Mama.
