When I was growing up, we would frequently stop at my grandparents house for a visit. I remember that Gram almost always was baking bread. She would would have a miniature loaf for each of us kids, warm and fresh out of the oven, there was nothing as wonderful to eat or smell!!!

When I had children of my own, Gram would bake my children their own mini breads. They loved it.

Gram has passed on, we have her bread recipe.

There's nothing more yummy than the smell of freshly baked bread. Too bad so few bake anymore.

I love this memory, smells can just take me back to a place in time like nothing else. Very nice that you have your Grams recipes.

You've reminded me of my Grandmother's sweet bread that she baked for us every Christmas. I must contact my sister's to see if they have a copy of that recipe.

I was always glad dad taught mom how to bake. Especially the german egg bread we would have with melted butter hot out of the oven timed for when we came home from school. The heel was mine and then it was outside to play for hours 'til dad got home.

Every Monday Mom would bake 6 loaves of bread and 1 9x13 of cinnamon
rolls. We could hardly wait to get home from school to have some. My Mom
died in 2009 and I have her box of recipes but her recipe for bread and
cinnamon rolls wasan't in there. Make sure you get their recipes as soon as
you can. I wish that I did.

I also wish we had thought to get that precious bread and roll recipe of my mom's. But she had brain cancer and we were so caught up in her care and all the necessary things that we didn't think about recipes until she had passed away 9 months later. Me and my 2 sisters often wish we had her recipe. I bake breads and cinnamon rolls all the time and have my own recipes, but I wish I had hers.

My mother baked cakes, but was not a bread baker.  I bake bread, but have my own recipes.

You all have some wonderful memories.  Hang on to them.  They are precious!!!

I have recipes that my grandmother used for not only bread.  She always made bread everyother day.  It was fun to go and see her and help.  I have enjoyed all of her recipes.
