If anyone is interested in a home-made pumpkin pie from scratch this is the recipe for you.      2 Day Pumpkin Pie:  You will need a pie shell for a 9 inch pie.  The recipe is:  3 eggs, 1 egg yolk, 1/2 cup packed brown sugar, 1/2 cup white sugar, 1 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. ground cinnamon, 1 tsp. ground nutmeg, 1 tsp. groung ginger, 1/2 tsp ground cloves 1 cup milk, 1/2 cup heavy whipping creme,  2 cups pumpkin puree.  For pumpkin puree:  Remove seeds from pumpkin, cut into 8 pieces. Place in a pan with 1/2 inch of water, cover and bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour or until tender.  Let cook and scrape pumpkin from rind. Mash. Place in a colander and let drip into a bowl (cover and place in the refrigerator overnight for best results).  Now you are ready to bake!  Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.  In a large bowl combine eggs, egg yolk, white sugar and brown sugar. Add salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves.  Gradually stir in milk and cream. Put mixture in a blender with pumpkin puree and blend until smooth.  Pour filling into pie 9 inch pie shell.  Bake for 1 hour or until filling is set.  I hope that you are able to enjoy this delicious recipe for the holidays.

I made pumpkin pie in the past, using the fresh pumpkin, but no one liked the flavor. Guess I will try it one more time using your recipe.

I guess I am lazy and use canned pumpkin.  Of course with the spices added, my husband crows with delight on how wonderful it is.
