I would love to hear from anyone who has converted receipes without sugar.  I do substitute apple sauce for oil in receipes, whole wheat flour for some of the white flour. What about brown sugar?

I don't have any recipes for you, just wanted to say good luck to you and I hope you are able to still find ways to enjoy the recipes you love.

Joan - I do not have diabetes but I frequently make cookies for a friend who does.  I use Splenda Brown Sugar -- that's half white (sugar free) Splenda and half regular brown sugar  (I "think" that's the correct mix - I just remember it's half and half).

And I look hard and find sugar free chocolate chips.   My friend knows about the sugar content and carbs in the other ingredients so she's very careful about the number of the cookies she eats each day.

Joan - try taking Cinnamon pills.  They help your body manage sugar naturally.  You can also add extra cinammon to cereal and other items you like.

I agree with what Millie B said.  I get recipes for my brother from Kraft.com.  He is a diabetic.  They have some good recipes.  You can get on their emailing list and they will send you recipes.

A friend gave me a cake recipe using yellow or chocolate sugar free cake mix' 1/2 C. oil, 3 eggs, i C. water, and one can sugar free frosting (vanilla or chocolate to match the cake mix flavor).  Mix all together including the frosting and bake in a bundt pan.  She said this is delicious and she bakes this to take to church functions as many folks are diabetic.  Hope this helps.
