When I was a kid, I loved to sit on the counter and watch my Mom bake, which she would do often and for no more special an occasion that giving something to the neighbors just to be nice, or bringing coffeecake to the church bake sale because it was expected. The thing we made most often was a batch of chocolate chip cookies. And, with my big sweet tooth, I had to taste everything. Yet, I wasn't supposed to have any. Hence being caught with my hand stuck in the old-fashioned tin of chocolate chips when Mom entered form the pantry on this one occasion. Oh and photos were taken of course! A somewhat embarrassing story that defines my baking personality and career.
