Parafin!! Well rats ..... I was certain I had everything to make these. Start them today and finish tomorrow. I don't have any parafin and I can't get to WalMart today. That's something I know I can't borrow from my neighbors .... super, kind, cheerful people who don't cook much.

The paraffin is necessary for the chocolate to form nicely around the cherries. Most chocolate candy is made with paraffin. And don't be stingy with the paraffin. Also, put the paraffin in the bottom of the pan and add the chocolate squares on top of it - melts more consistently this way.
