With the Fall season looming [Sept 1st already come and gone?!?] I look forward to the change of recipes here on the website. This baking season, as I'm already thinking ahead, will be kind of a different one; with Mom, Dad and Big Brother already on insulin, and me staring down the Big D as well, I've got to be creative on reformulating the traditional baked good for the season. I hope to get tips and creative ideas from the fellow bakers on this site, and hope to enjoy the Season albeit a little more easier on the blood sugar!

It certainly is a challenge, but absolutely worth it. Planning is the main ingredient. I was able to deter my hubby from taking diabetes meds by lowering his blood sugar. I was thrilled! We are still very diligent watching what we consume to lower it even more.

Was just looking up pie recipes, & thought you might like this one...Candied Walnut-Topped Pumpkin Pie, using Carnation lite milk & Splenda.
Good luck on your endeavors.
