As the daughter of a baker, my boyfriend assumed that I could cook and bake. In my new apartment, I decided to use a tip from my realtor sister and placed some vanilla drops on a cookie pan and turned on the oven just before my boyfriend was due to pick me up for our first date. When he came in and smelled the vanilla, he assumed that I had been baking cookies and wanted to have some. I had to think fast and tell him that I had already packed them up for a party at someone elses's house the next day. So he asked me to make him some for our next date. I was so grateful for the recipe for Toll House Cookies on the back of Nestles' chocolate chips! They turned out a little overbaked, but not burned--thank goodness. My boyfriend never knew the truth. But we broke up later. Since then, I've become a good baker.

LOL! Good save! But he should not have assumed you were a baker - because of your parents - any more than any other person might be. You could have been, but your interests may have been in other things.
