I used to always help my Mimi in the kitchen every holiday season. This one year though, I was old enough to know how to do things on my own. I was in charge of baking the chocolate chip pecan cookies. I had all my ingredients and I was ready. My Mimi said for me to go ahead and get to work. I had mixed everything all together and baked the batch of about 3 doz. cookies. I arranged them on a platter all nice and neat when my uncle came by and grabbed a couple. He quickly gobbled them down with a strange look on his face. I asked him what was wrong and he said, "Nothing, but why did you use salt instead of sugar?". It turns out the salt from the pecans overpowered the sweetness and the cookies were horrible. However, my uncle who is like "Mikey", felt otherwise.
