One beautiful fall day, we went exploring the back roads with my family & found a bonanza of persimmons. Now, my family is also known for food fights....& needless to say, my husband ended up locking himself in the truck to protect himself. We had persimmon pulp all over all of us & the trucks! From that point on, he seriously questioned the wisdom of joining my family.

Well, you did say husband.... not Ex..... So I guess he did not give up!  LOL  Did you get him to try the persimmons in a pie or something?
Or did you use up all the ammunition & there were none left for baking!?!

I am sure certain recipes are great using persimmons.  You would have to know how to use them.  I don't.

Great story. Aren't persimmons loaded with seeds which are to be eaten. Can't do it if you have divirticulosis since they can cause and intestinal problem.

I have never had persimmons, so don't know if I would like them or not.

Great story!!  Those who don't try Persimmons are missing out on a great baking experience.  They make excellent cookies!!  And, then there's a great bread.  My mouth is watering at this moment.  I guess I should go find my cookie recipe.  I haven't made Persimmon cookies for a very long time, as they are not available all of the time (in fact, very little time).   So, you need to grab them when you see them!
