Christmas of 1997-my girlfriend and I will never forget it. Her husband was a truck driver and usually gone for a week at a time. While he was gone we would try and stay out of trouble but it usually never worked. We had decided while he was on his run we would do a marathon baking session. We first went to his Mom & Dad' house to help them. He had 1 arm & would bake cookies in a stove in the basement. One would turn up burnt once in a while, so he had to keep coffee with him. She was diabetic & would not stay out of the dough. The next afternoon she & I started in at her house. She had written all of her cookie recipies as double batch. No problem, EXCEPT when it came to chocolate chip cookies. No Matter what I did it just didn't look right. She soon realized she had tripled an already double recipe. TROUBLE IN RIVER CITY! She called bakery-could she get a large mi9xing bowl from them? After th laughter the answer was no. WE finally got them all baked at about 1 a.m. They were still finding tupperware containers of cookies in the late summer. The fruiyroom in the cellar had kept them just fine. I still shudder.

I did not think it was possible to have too many chocolate chip cookies.... Since they didn't go bad, I still think so!!!  Cookies for months, it
sounds like a lot of work beforehand, but a great reward!
