My mother has this wonderful cookie recipe that uses pineapple preserves...well she was out of them that day and my brother decided to try whatever jelly was in her fridge. Let's just say that grape made green cookies that day! They still tasted good! Every single time I make that recipe, I think of my mother and brother and get a smile on my face.

Wow.... I would never have expected that to happen.  But as long as they taste good, who cares?

What a great memory. Glad they tasted good.  Sometimes what we see changes our percecption of what it tastes like.

Speaking of grape jelly, my Dad had us put it on scrambled eggs. Do you think  that is where the Dr. Suess story "Green Eggs and Ham" came from?

My mom used to make an omelet and would put grape jelly in it.  One of the most disgusting looking things I have seen.  The nice yellow of the egg with this purple oozing out and where the two met it was sort of a greenish color like this. Not what you want to see early in the morning.
