I had been looking forward to making some special lemon flavored scones for a very good friend. So,when they traveled to visit us, I was excited to have the chance to give her this special treat. In preparation for their arrival, I was busy with trying to do several things at once, including baking the scones. After they wer finished, they looked a bit flat, but it wasn't until we tasted them that I knew they hadn't turned out as they were supposed to. In reviewing the recipe, I had forgotten the baking powder! Oh, well . . .there's always next time!

I did the same thing with cornbread. I had never made cornbread from scratch. So we had cornmash fried for several days.
