Before my father passed a few years ago of cancer, every night he would or I would call to discuss 30 minute meals. We both loved Rachael Ray. To this day, I believe my father actually loved her MORE than what he let on. He would talk about her hair and what she had on that day. After he passed, It was very hard for me to watch her. I even put away the cookbooks my father bought me of hers because I would miss him and cry. Then one day, God revealed to me that my daddy is still with me because my youngest child was born on his birthdate and my only son is the spitting image of him. I realized that I am truly my "Daddy's Girl".

This is a really heartwarming story. I hope that this "Daddy Girl" goes back to cooking 30 minute meals and share her memories with the rest of her family of her times with her dad.

Of course your Dad is still with you.  He watches over you from heaven now.  But he is still there.

Our "Daddy" never really is gone. We have all the wonderful memories and yes, our children and grandchildren are a reflection of both him and our "Mom". Thanks for sharing.

Dads are never really gone - only watching over us from above.

Keep those memories in your heart and your mind.  Get back to cooking from Rachel's cookbooks.  Your father expects you to do that, that's why he gave them to you.  He's looking down from heaven on you.
