I had set the table for 12 as I was expecting a crowd for dinner. I was in the kitchen when I heard a funny noise! My cat had decided to eat the butter out of the butter dishes - all 4 of them were licked!!!! I had to hurry up and bring some more butter to room temperature before my guests arrived AND I had to wash every dish and the silverware all over again!!!!

Many years ago my cat sat on my birthday cake. Put the candles on it, sang "Happy Birthday" then threw out the cake.

How long did the cat need to wash up after the cake &/or the butter? How far did you kick the cat for his efforts? LOL.

Cats will eat the strange things instead of their cat food. We have to hide cookies, bread and chips from our cats. One of them even licked the soap in the soap dish but you have to just realize that they rule the house not us.

Ahh, yes. Our "dear" little furbabies! Whatever would we do without them! Get things done a lot easier, that's what!! **LOL** Oh my, what humorous..and not so humorous incidents they can cause!! But I've had them as constant companions my whole life.

Very cute story. We have dogs and only one can not be trusted in the kitchen she is the ring leader!
They keep us on our toes. Thanks for sharing

Our cat used to love lasagne and spaghetti.  Maybe he was part italian?

lol lol --- this afternoon I was drilling 8 big - 1/4" - holes in my pantry door so I could hang two wire racks.  The 1/4" drill left some great "curls" of wood on the floor that I planned to sweep up very quickly ...... No such luck.  My hateful cats just went nuts over that wood.   The little cutls are all over the house.  It looks like I drilled a whole tree - not a closet door.

You never know what interests a cat foodwise.  My cat loves to get ion our coat closet, but I can always tell as the door squeaks and it is a dead giveaway.

Aren't cats the most amazing of God's creatures? They seem to impose themselves when you do not wish to acknowledge them, like sitting on the magazine you are reading, what you are crocheting, in the cabinet when you are trying to fix a leak...  When you would like them to sit on your lap, the become aloof! We love our cat, Dusty, who is 16 and now is down to skin and bones. He is still lively, alert, and eating. He uses the littler box most of the time, but now seems to forget where to defecate on occassion. We love him and he is soooo intelligent that when it comes time for him to go, we will feel as if we have lost a child and good friend.

I had a cat that loved twinkies.  He would grab a package and drag it under the bed (out of reach) and make a terrible racket tearing open the package.  He didn't eat too much of the cake.  But he loved stealing them & attacking the wrappers.

Wood curls.... such a wonderful toy!  But if you went and purchased something like them, I am sure it would be snubbed & ignored! Smile

Pat - Badcat wants, well, demands anything made of that hard cellophane (?) ... the clear plastic strip used to seal a package.   He plays with it so hard it sounds like big trouble.
So chunks of that are all over my floor - along with plastic grocery bags, pipe cleaners (now their favorite) commercial cat toys...........

I'm not a cat/kitten fan.  In the last few years, my son & I have become highly allergic to them.  My mother has a friend who lets her cats roam wherever all day/night & she has 5 of them.  At a visit, we found out we were allergic & my son was severely allergic.  She was cooking & the cats were taking turns jumping on the counter, sticking their heads too close to the pots & pans, on the tables, chairs, couches; just everywhere.  Of course I volunteered to help clean/set the table but it was already done.  Thank God! my son swelled up before we ate!  Her husband ran to the store for benadryl for my son & all the guests cleaned - Everyone was saying a silent prayer that this happened & we got it cleaned.  Thankfully the benadryl worked for my son & to this day, she asks why we don't go back & that she doesn't have much company.  She says they eat anything but the worst was Christmas tinsel which had to be surgically removed on 2 of them & one chomped an extension cord & got zapped a few times.  I told her from the beginning I don't like cats than to see them roaming everywhere - no thanks!

Good morning Ann --- I'll provide those little monsters with anything they want.
~sigh~  I do wish Badcat would leave the toilet paper alone.
