It was my son's 1st Birthday and so he love Big Bird from Seasemse Street so I went out and bought a Big Bird Cake pan and cake mix and frosting. And made it the night of May 23rd of 1979 his birthday was May 24th and we were going to have a Family Birthday Party for him. So on the day of his party I and my husband got everything decorated like Big Bird stuff and my son got a bath and a nap and my husband put on his special birthday clothes that his grandmother brought him for that day. Guest were coming and putting their present in the living room and talking to every one and I had decorated the kitchen dining room with the cake of Big Bird on the table everything was Big Bird my son was so excited that day he was telling everyone about big bird and then he started showing everyone about Big Bird, people were still talking to each other and my son had gotten quiet to quiet and we started looking for him well while everyone was talking to themselves or to guest my son was in the dining room he had pulled Big Bird off of the table and had started eating his Birthday Cake we all found him sitting there eating it with yellow frosting on his little face, it was so cute that we pick up the cake and put a candle on it and let him blow it out and then place him back on the floor under a plastic sheet where he ate his Big Bird cake. When he was done he was covered in Big Bird yellow cake from his head to his feet. So every birthday after the 1st one he had his own Birthday Cake which he would try and eat the whole thing. Now that my son is 29 he doesnt eat chocolate or anything sweet and he only weighs 115-lbs.
