The other day I celebrated my birthday and I wanted a birthday cake. Well, my daughter hurt her hand, my husband was ill and so that left me to bake my own. I felt a little disappointed that no one else could do it, but I got out all the stuff and did it. I made a carrot cake - and it turned out great. My daughter and husband felt bad and both gave me an I O U for cakes -- I can't wait to collect on them.

I am the designated cake baker in our family. So, I have to make my own cake if I am going to get one! It sucks, but, it happens. At least I know it will be good, and it will be what I want! Hahaha!

I think that you should be able to buy a cake if you want to.... even if we prefer one that is home made.  If no one volunteers to make it for you then it is your choice to bake or buy.

I have to either make my own cake or buy one in my house as well. I don't think it has occurred to any of the 3 men here that they could 'treat' me for my birthday! And I didn't really think about this until this forum was posted...hmmmm.

Great story. At least they were there to help you celebrate and with love in their hearts. You are blessed.
