we had just moved into our 1st home as renters... in the backyard was a huge apple tree. one day i decided i would try to make an apple pie for the 1st time. the dough was so sticky, that i was almost unable to get it rolled out. i finally got the pie done, but "OH MAN" it looked terrible
i had to patchwork the pieces of crust onto the pie to get it together
but, it was absolutely the very best pie he had ever tasted said my new husband !!

What a smart man you married...I remember a few pies like that, but I just kept on and now they are great. My breads use to be so hard they could be used to build a house that would have withstood a tonado, but my dad taught me a long time ago NEVER GIVE UP and sometimes we look at the outseide instead of thinking about what is on the inside. Just as you said your pie did not look so great on the outside but on the inside it was wonderful and tasted so delicious. We are like that so many times we judge what we see instead of taking the time to really come to know someone, we usually find a beautiful person there. In the ministry we have found a lot of people "hide" behind their appearance be it by the way the dress or the way they act or an unusual look or being extremely heavy so no one will bother you ( Idid this myself until Jesus set me free) or by being too thin because we are hurting inside and don't know which way to turn, There is only one way, that way is Jesus, So you continue on with your pie making and even if the outside may not look like you think it should, just think about the wonderful food on the inside of your recipe. God Bless and have a good day, Donna G.

Good for you that you made a pie with apples from your tree. We are going to plant fruit trees at our new home. Can't wait to bake with fruit grown in our own yard.
