I rememember as a child going out to pick Juneberries with my Gramma Ethel. She would tie a dishtowel through the wire handle of a gallon ice cream pail, tie the towel in a knot and then slip the loop over our head to make it possible for the pail to hang at about waste level while also leaving our hands free to pick berries with both hands. We'd pick our pails full (in addition to the handfuls we ate) and then head back to her kitchen. She would then show me how to wash and prepare the berries for baking and we'd start to make pies. Gramma would make several large pies but then she would always drag out the little pot pie tins so I could make my own individual pies. She was a wonderful woman and sadly lost her battle with alzheimers 5 years ago. She has 11 grandchildren ranging in age from 17 to 43 and each of us have fond memories of her. I think those early days of baking with her is the reason I love to bake now. I would love to win this family reunion package and get 10 of Grammas family members together from all parts of the country and enjoy some family time together in her memory. Thanks for everything and God Bless you Gramma Ethel rest in peace..
