In preparation for the open house for my wedding, my mom and sisters (including my wonderful sisters-in-law) made literally hundreds of Almond Glazed Sugar Cookies and Chocolate Chip Cookies. The night before the wedding, they all got together and put the almond cookies in small cellophane bags and attached stickers as a favor for those who came to the open house. I've always been one to be right in the thick of things when there's a project to be done, but they wouldn't let me help with anything. Instead, I got to spend a little time with my sweetheart and his daughters. The almond cookie recipe came from a friend who brought it to a recipe shower. As soon as I saw and tasted the cookies, I knew this was "the one" for the open house. The cookies were beautiful and tasted wonderful. But the best of all is the sweet memories of my incredible family who did so much to make my special day so special. And then my mom and sisters did it all again less than 2 weeks later at another open house 2,000 miles away. They came to visit and ended up baking, and baking, and baking. Thanks, Mom! Thanks, Sisters! You are the best.
