Spread holiday cheer
My grandma used to roast pecan halves in butter and salt and only at Christmas time. I LOVED them - as a snack out of the beautiful crystal bowl she always had them in, or later, in a hot fudge sundae

My grandma used to roast pecan halves in butter and salt and only at Christmas time. I LOVED them - as a snack out of the beautiful crystal bowl she always had them in, or later, in a hot fudge sundae at home. My mom found the recipe and made a photo copy for me. They're so easy to make I can't believe I've waited all these years to make them myself! I made a pan this morning and after the first bite memories of Christmas' past came flooding back. I miss my Grandma, but will now carry on the tradition of making her pecans.

Sounds like a wonderful memory your mom left you with. How about sharing the recipe with us. :-)

Lina - I should have thought of that when I made the post. Sorry! Here you go! Preheat oven to 350. Place 5 Tbsp. butter (no substitutes!) on large jelly roll pan. Melt butter in oven while preheating. Place 1 lb. pecan havles in melted butter; stir to coat. Salt to taste. Roast for 20 minutes, stirring every 5 minutes. Cool before serving/storing.
