Making homemade candy with my mom. It takes two people to make our candy, one to beat the egg whites and the other to stir the candy o the stove. It was such a great time making candy with my mom. This Christmas 2009 my daughter and I made the same candy with her beating the egg whites and me stirring the candy on the stove. It is so nice to carry on the tradition.

What a wonderful tradition that you are keeping in your family. It doesn't get any better when you share special moments.

My daughter, granddaughters and myself all made candy this past Christmas so I know what a wonderful time it is sharing this tradition. Happy New Year to all members!

Tradion is a big thing in our family too. Since my Grandma passed 3 years ago, my sisters and I make the bread recipes she used to make with us at Christmas time when we were young. It keeps here alive in our hearts.

I envy you! You have memories, and all I have is a candy thermometer... I keep saying I am going to try it and never get the courage. I have a granddaughter, and do want to create some memories with her, so you have inspired me!

I can only hope that one day my daughter will carry on our tradition of candy making when she is older. It is such a great time to spend with your family in the kitchen baking and haveing fun.
