as a child i remember the baking going on for at least a week, the smells were so good, it would make you excited, you just couldn't wait. My grandmother would make the best cakes and pies, all homemade from scratch.Everyone, from aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends would come to eat with us on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Those were such happy times, and as I grew up, all I wanted was to be able to pass this on to my children. Because I believe its these special times in the kitchen that make the best memories for our children, and hope to inspire them to pass on to their children.

I always liked Thanksgiving the best.  You had all this good food & your family together, but none of the tensions that come with gift giving.

I love holiday and the baking, cooking and family gatherings. I don't have the luxury of the family gatherings as much as when I was younger. My children are spread out all over the country.

A crowded kitchen can be a happy kitchen too!  Space is a good thing, but there is always room for conversation & an extra pair of hands to peel or stir or chop.
