My grandmother was never the best cook but she rocked when it came to pies. She was famous for her crust and she was sure to pass her recipe down to her daughters. After my grandmother died my mom and my aunts decided all of the granddaughters needed to learn how to bake pies just like grandmas and hence the beginning of Pie School! The families get together and bake but more than anything we laugh and have fun. The great-granddaughters are now old enough that we have a third generation of Pie School students all lined up for next year!

Such a good idea, hence a tradition! I hope it will continue! Home cooking seems to be getting kicked to the curb for fast food and less health lifstyles so this could be the best thing that you could do for the youth in your family! THANKS FOR SHARING!

I agree-scratch baking, cannine etc is fast becoming a thing of the past and us Grammas have to keep it going.
