I watched 3 of my granddaughters today while my daughter worked. The oldest is 12 and we've spent alot of time together...just not in the kitchen. She has never shown interest, until today. I asked if she would like to make brownies while her little sisters took a nap and she said yes. I was elated! I simply supervised while she made the brownies. They were from a miz, but this was her first attempt at baking by herself. She ended up making peanut butter cookies, too. She took half of each home. The other half will go to my other granddaughters tomorrow. We had so much fun! We'll definitely carry on this tradition every time she comes over. I love to bake, but can't eat sweets much anymore. I'm always looking for an excuse to get in the kitchen and make my house smell wonderful.

What a special moment for you and your grand daughter. I'm sure you will have many more moments like this. Enjoy every minute of it.
