It was the first year that my brother and his wife were having thanksgiving at their house, so my sister in-law was really nervous, but excited to have us all there. They live 5 hours from us, so my mom, dad and I all went and stayed with them for the four day weekend. This was the first time that we had ever been to their house so they decided to finish up a few projects around the house and one of those projects was to lay a new kitchen wood floor.
On Thanksgiving, my sister in law and I were in charge or the turkey because it was her house, but I needed to make sure the chicken wasn't to dry so I could make gravy from the turkey broth. We were both really careful and would check the turkey ever 30 min or so. I noticed that the top of the turkey was a little dry, so I asked her to help me bast the turkey. We pulled the turkey out of the oven, but apparently it was a lot heavier then either one of us realized because when we pulled it out, it just keept going and fell onto their new wood floor. If that wasn't bad enough, we both dropped the side we were holding because all of the broth and juice was so hot that we had to run from the kitchen. Luckily my mom was right there and came in to help us salvage what was left of the turkey and the broth. The turkey turned out to be very delicious and we still talk about the "turkey drop" to this day:)
