I am half listening to The Chew and they made a candy that is a like a PayDay candy and I thought I would share.
You will need to prepare in advance 1 can of sweetened condensed milk.
Pour the contents of the can into a sauce pan and cook until it is thick and caramel in color, about 45 minutes. You can also place the un opened can in a large pan of water and boil for 4 hours.  You have to make sure the can stays submerged.
Caramel Nutty Nuggets. (I can't remember what they called it on the show)
2 jars, 16 ounces each salted peanuts.
1/2 stick butter
2 Cups mini marshmallows
1 can, 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk cooked as described above.
1/2 Cup creamy peanut butter
Spray a 13X9 pan with no stick spray. Line with parchment.
Sprinkle half the nuts in the bottom of the pan.
In a sauce pan heat butter until melted add marshmallows.
Stir until melted and smooth.
Add in the cooked condensed milk and peanut butter.
Cook until smooth and melted.
Pour this mixture over the nuts.
Spread using a spatula, easier if spatula is dipped in water.
Sprinkle the rest of the nuts over the top.
Press down a bit to make sure they will not come loose.
refrigerate several hours until firm.
Invert onto a cutting board. Peel parchment off the bottom.
Cut into log shape or small squares.

Didn't I tell ya these sound good!

Wow -- Thanks Nikki, this sounds like very good candy.   But, gee, I don't think I'm patient enough to cook/watch anything 4 hours.  Even 45 minutes would be difficult for me.
I'll think about it because this sure sounds good.

,that's how they make the Mexican pralines  by just boiling it in the can
you can rig something over the can to keep it submerged
google it and ask  someone will tell you how to do it
maybe an upside-down saucer under the lid or a small heavy bowl according to the size of your pot
just check occasionally to make sure it's down  or add more boiling water from teapot or m.w.

The Dulce de Leche can also be done in the oven. Pour the sweetened condensed milk into a pie plate and bake until it is thick and golden in color might be a half hour but in the oven you don't have to tend it as much.  You could do it while making cookies.

Bahhhhhh ... an easy candy?  Hardly.   Dipping those blobs into melted chocolate is very, very difficult and no fun.   I wonder why I keep trying that????????

I just now thought of this
maybe an ice pick would give more control
I always put them on waxed paper  until they are set and add a dollop of chocolate on the hole

Hey -  Nikki, the Caramel Nutty Nuggets are finished - waiting in the fridge for my first slice.  The top looked so plain I melted a handful of chocolate chips in a plastic bag and squirted/wiggled that across the top.
