GRANA here;
 At 2AM;Yell Maestro played bouncy- bouncy on both of us; trying to get us up to  play w/ groom or feed him.
 MAESTRO in one ofhis less obtrusive  moments:

Fortunately we had to get up EARLY  TO  do all we had planed for today.
tra early  wake up call gave us both time to  shower & I had time for ONLINE shopping to get some facts to  help out w/ ring shopping.
By knowing what terms were mentioned special offers were ongoing as well as available  styles; I anagedto get  my choice before hubby lost his patience w/ the whole process.Unfortunately  it turns out that e may have to  "SPECIALORDER" my ring but we should know by the end of this week if we have  to This  is the ring we picked out:it is a 2 tone  infinity design which represents " un-ending") like eternity  which is more difficult to size w/o losing the ring's integrity It has been discontinued but can be made just for me or better yet one might have been left over & be waiting just for me!!!!!!!!!!!

I especially like the flower in the center There were other rings w/ flowers but the are priced 4X over our budget...We've wited a long time for me to get  THE RING:
I  RECEIVED AN "ENGAGEMENT RING" but hubby bought a wedding band because he thought it "wasteful" since we would be getting married before he relocated after graduation and here would be little time to wear it before our  wedding.
For our  30th anniversary he had saved up & bought me an engagement/promise ring ( he promised an anniversary ring ASAP.It (the stolen ring) was a HIGH quality  diamond ; just the engagement ring I had long-time   dreamed of. Our home was broken into one day while hubby was overseas, the kids @ school I was at work ; broke several windows,[ in frustration & anger I suppose?]hours  of clean-up  for me to tearfully do when Iot home from work. Our older son replaced the windows & installed wrought iron burglar bars on lower level windows. that was many years ago( before auto accident; stroke; heart attack; spleen removal ;kidney ysurgery &  now Skin cancer, should have given me better priories; Hubby decided to keep his promise before it is too late
This is the ring we picked out today: A 2 tone gold infinity design; signifying never-ending. birth- life death-infinity)  I  especially like the flower in the center. There were  several diamond flower rings but they were 4X the budgeted price. This lovely ring was half the budgeted price& looked lovely on my ring finger. It's not as "flashy" as my stolen ring& may not tempt burglary  or robbery ?

GRANA here;
 "beasty girl" Cali, just had her nails trimmed& was a gopd girl; nobody got hurt or frightened, it took 2-3 groomers to hold her while the mgr. of the salon did the actual cutting She spends much of the ady either in a sunny  spot by the sliders or on paw-paw's lap
She spends much of the night either at on of our feet or  wrapped around my head on my pillow, if it is a cold ight She walks by me slowly enough to receive a head rub or  chin tickle&  seems to enjoy human contact  now
 Maestro is still sweet& gentle, loving his tickle belly& back scratch time.
After Cali leaves hubby's lap, Maestro sits in the crook of hubby 's elbow running off onto hubby chest & shoulder. It's hard to read w/ orange fur blocking the pagesWink

hubby brushed Cali today and she gave him enough time to get a full brush of hair from her short  dense  haired body; easily a handful!SurprisedShe's become more domesticated&  sweet& gentlethan we thought possibleKissShe's getting more  slender, eating mor laylike &  only tillshe's nolonger " starving, gpoing back for more about an hour later; She learned that fromMaestro, that's how he has always eaten; nibble a bit  walk away& nibble a bit more; if heats too much he throws up so it makes no sense o  try to eat his portion all at  once. ubby  cut both their rations down & they're both content w/ the new prtion size; they get snacks &  nibbles throughout the day as supplements
Cali is having a "comprehensive/ in depth"exam by the vet on June 13th( twice a year to make sure, her  extra body at has not caused any health problems...she seems just fine to us but as she gets older we want to be sure, all is well w/her.

GRANA here;
CALI had her annual wellness comprehensive exam today; she was tested frworms& given meds pro-active tolab resuts to get a jump on any infestation,
Shs lst about 6 # since moving in w/ us due to portion control including no more than 2"treats"dail 7 they are just pieces of her kibble taken from her bowl; everything we were advised to d bythe vet dtoday she  akso is playing more( actually watching us play w/ cat toys; asst. balls fish &  mice.
WE knew she had lost some weight; her basket ball size stomach  is nearly normal size & she's begun to  play chase & catch w/ maestro and we find all her toys in the hall where she leaves them when she's done playing with them, That's when I toss them past her she goes after them & plays again for awhile
Cool

Neither of the dogs had problems with the fireworks.  And there have been plenty over the past week.  But I have discovered with the recent rain storms that I have a cat that is afraid of thunder and fireworks.  He spent the loud nights and several stormy days under the covers.

 After I feared for Cali's reaction to hours of
NOISY fireworks; she suprised me by sleeping through most of it. When  I pulled back the drapes to see the display; that woke  her up...I rubbed her head& she went right back to sleep Surprised

 Have you seen those flashlight like cat Toys?????
 A vet encouraged us to buy one for Cali  in the hope that she would get more exercise...He also warned us of the  danger o eye damage if the light gets into her eyesYell
Today  Hubby took ut our OLD FASHONED  FLASHLIGHT& SHONE  IT ON THE FLOOR IN MOVING CIRCLES; NO DANGER
to CALI., who spent about 15 minutes running around after it pouncing on it several times
.Maestro  just  watched her & then the two of  them played tag &  wrestled; BETTER THAN T.V.Laughing

GRANA here;
Hi MIKKI g
My sympathies to you on the loss of your  15 yokitty.
We didn't think that  rescuing/adopting anotherwouldhelp / our loss(es) but happily ithas...each new kitty has it's own special personalities &  thoughIoften am reminded of our departed babies, I enjoy the specialmoents w/ our new bbies
; We lost 3 of our kitties aged 15& 16yo; quite aged even for kitties;they weree quite il at he end ( asst, cancers) & their  passing was a blessing  as it ended their suffering We  lost another very young rescued kitty  to an unoperable heart condition ON( UNOPERABLE)&   it broke our hearts to loseher;No matter  their age or length of time w/you ;it is a great loss ( as w/ .any family member It  BROKE OUR EARTS TO lose them each& all but we try to dwell on the happy times we shared w/ each of themcuddling ; soothing gentle stroking; playing hide& seek to get them into their carriers; or laugfhing at the mischief each got intoin teirtimes w/us....We are miserable over  their loss but happy to know that their last weeks  &  years w/ us were as good as we could make themInnocent
Our Maestro is aging &7 w/ his neglected ill health before  he came to us we must face  the reality that  he may not live as long as the others  who had received better early health care.

Hi MIKKI G;

GRANA  here;
Our furr babies are irreplaceable but new
ones
help to ease the  pain!!!!!!!!!!!!
i

And providing a loving home to an other furr baby is good for all concerned; We've rescued kitties each time our older  (15+yrs] have passed on;l The loss no longer hurts butI find joy in the loving reactions of our newest  rescued babies.They are so sweet & we're all happier for their company.
Good luck in the lovey hunt; go sloly &  let the choice be made by the other, notyou!
All our rescued pets chose me/us ; no mistakes/regrets have been made; Our kitties are greatful loving; all bad  habits &  attitudes are gone, pretty fast
