Neither Peaches of Badcat came near the bed last night.  They wanted their breakfast and that was it.   I wonder what's happening.

Nancy, You have been going away a lot to clean and paint at the church lately. They may be
adjusting to that. They may be just depending on each other. When you get back to your
normal schedule they will change back.  That's what our cats do!!

Carol - last night at Walmart I ran into my neighbor.  She said the stray cat spent the night under her front window screaming and upsetting her cat.  So I think my cats were in my window watching him/her too.

My poor babies are upset about me being gone so much.   At first they met me at the door crying and trying to climb up.  Now they hardly speak to me :- (

GRANA  here;
NANCY & OTHERS;
 Both Cali& Maestro seem to have the "hungries", just like peaches & badcat.
Maestro , normally Mr finicky couldn't care less about eating; has been waking pawpaw  up before0600 hrsfor his 0700 hrs feeding .He races into the kitchen @ 11;30 for his noontime meal & is also 1/2 hour early for dinner He gets sacks throughout the day after grooming during cudling He e ats all his own food & some ofCali's if one of us is not in there to  stop him before he over-eats & then throws up Tongue outHe usually eats lightly & keeps it all down but recently he eats eats &  eats w/ half coming  back out.  I've talked to him about it; explaing that "eating & digesting a small  amount is better than eating  a dble. portion w/more than half ending up on the floor...he miles/blinks/nods& forgets by the next meal.Cali who had become  less cmpusive/ needy@ mealtime is now "needing" even more food at each meal( "fattening up"for the  coldsnap  expected in March, after  a warm  winter, till nowUndecided

Nancy, The first flame point Siamese that we had always went camping with us and if he got left
home he wouldn't go anywhere near us for a couple of days. We have a couple now that don't
care at all if you leave them just as long as they have food and water. lol lol

LOL LOL  Carol I had a cat that tried to prevent me from opening the door ...... she threw a fairly ugly fit against me and against the door.

And I had a cat that refused to speak to me when I got home.  She's follow me but not look at me or allow me to touch her.  She just sat near me and pretend I didn't exist.

Cats!!

Last night wehn I went to bed there was no sign of a cat.   Peaches joined me around 5 this morning and I didn't see Badcat until I got up.
They must have an exciting time in that basement.

That is exactly what they were doing.This is a good thing they will keep the mice out of your house.We have never had a mouse in here when Ditto was still here he was a Champion in the hunting department.I think we are through with mice we haven't caught anymore.we stuffed steel wool in all the little openings we could find.They can even get in around cable wires now that's not much space.

GRANA  here;
Maestro is now over10 yo.He's had health issues snce day one; He's been eating better sinceCali taught him that if he won'te eat  his own food, she will.His weight improved from4-1/2# to nearly 9# Cali healedhis eye problems. when we installed our newAC we had all vents ts/ducts cleaned out & that helped his sinus problems.; mine too!
This past week he was"off his feed' again.We were both concerned 'cuz he really cannotf affford  to lose weight.
He spent several hours daily on pawpaw's lap or on their black throw  rug in the sunny window.Hedidn't run & play s  much as he usually does
Yesterday,  @ 0500 hrs  Maestro played"catch  the mousey when myhand/foot moved under the blankets..He was much more active & ate really well again( both cats did...I'm hopeful that whatever was ailing im is now passed  & am glad that  hubby/ pawpaw) could provide the extra cuddling time during the problem.

Hi Ann,I think they are so much like we are with their likes and dislikes.They have their times when they are a little blue or down and out.Sometimes they just want to be on their own or they just can't get enough love and companionship.Sometimes they don't want to eat just like us.Or they eat everything in sight.lol lol lol

GRANA  here;
 CALI; " beasty  girl"was  CONDEMNED n to death  by the 'O KILL " RESCUE ORG. where hubby was a volunteer......She would attack   volunteers who opened her cage in an effort to feed her or change her litterbox..Hubby( the rescuer) made up his mind to gentle her.He had gotten to  the point where he could take  her out & brush/groom her daily.When her death\notice was nanounced; he suggested we adopt her( he  didn't tell she was the one who had caused all his scatches.
She was extremely aggressive& refused to be ouched by humans( hubby & me) we took her to a cat behavior specialist who pronounced " she'll only get worse in the coming months; she'll never be   " A LAP CAT"
Today; 2 years after making her a part f our family she sat cudled next to  hubby as he read & later napped.She's been loowing  us both  to pet  her & is becoming a true mmber of our family!
on cold ights she wraps around my head on  my pillow( for warmth)  It wasn't even chillly today & she sought out hubby's body heat for cuddling.He's so proud of himself, for suceeding  in gentling our beasty girl"

Oh my goodness  .......... While ago I went outside to try to repair the storm door lock.  I had my brand new set of hex keys and went to work.  Something tried to climb my legs!!!!!
It was an incredibly tiny peke dog - black and white with a rinestone collar but no ID.  She was STARVING.  I ran inside and got the leftover cat chicken - back inside to get a can of cat food.  She just inhaled it all then was frantically trying to climb my legs and crying.
Back inside to get another can of food and my phone.
I called the regular police number and they said they had no reports but would be right out to get her.  If/when her owners are looking for her the police is the first place they will call. I told him - a wonderful young officer - I would keep her overnight until the humane society opened.  He said the police have a key to the society and he will take her there, put her in a comfortable, safe cage.  Her owners will be checking there too.  They sure wouldn't be checking my house.
When the officer had secured that tiny darling (who was thrilled to have him pick her up too) he was climbing into his car and said, "Are you the cookie woman?"  LOL LOL  Isn't that funny?
I said I was the woman who carried cookies to the police station.  He said he recognized my name ..... those were the best cookies they had ever tasted and appreciated me very much.
I'm  taking more cookies there tomorrow.
