In Response to Re: ARE YO R PETS A PART OF YOUR FAMILY OR MERELY POSESSIONS???????????????????:
Well Gale -- I did get "poofed" once. LOL LOL. I was out in the back yard feeding everybody and a 'possum came in. I will not feed possums and I tried to drive him away .... no luck so I set down my tray of food and was running at that possum, waving my arms and stomping. I tried to return to the food tray but Hillary was eating. Eating from the tray!! Not allowed!! I told Harriet to get away - no results. She kept gobbling. I screamed at her - no results. I stomped - no results. I kept moving toward her making all kinds or noise and waving my arms. She turned around to show me her bottom - first warning. I kept screaming. She stomped her little feet - second warning. I kept getting closer and screaming so she hit me will a small puff and kept eating. I went inside, took off my clothes and threw them in the washer. Then I got in the shower. All was well .... one long, good, soapy shower removed all the smell. Hillary removed all the food.

Hi Nancy, you have to admit that she was pretty tolerant and did warn you.My friend called me the one day and said for me to look out the front door there was my cat Ditto playing ring around the rosy with a couple of baby skunks he never was sprayed, the adult skunks were OK with him also. But my Border Collie Kelly was a different story, she was sprayed at least five times. The one time I had no tomato juice in the house so I used Ragu spaghetti sauce,it worked but everyone I told this to just laughed.I feel that my neighbors should leave the skunks alone and just monitor their pets better when outside. We really never noticed the skunks until everyone was leaving their dogs out after dark.I learned my lesson and took them out earlier and stayed out there with them.It is surprising to see all the animals that come out at night. We live in the city and we have skunks, opossum, raccoons and even deer. The poor things have no where to go,we are crowding them out of their homes.
