In Response to Re: ARE YO R PETS A PART OF YOUR FAMILY OR MERELY POSESSIONS???????????????????:
Gale... I just love having pets! I had a Teddy Bear hamster named Skippy that passed away about 3 months ago...very sad! A few years ago, I had a variety of tree frogs, a lizard and of course your Tetra fish! There is one type of bird that I want to get, but it's very expensive...$800.00! I still would need to buy a cage, food, toys, treats, etc. So, this may take a few years or hitting the lottery till I get one!!lol lol lol All my pets are well taken care of, cleaned, good food and they are all wanted! It's not fair to animals over the holidays or when a movie comes out like the 101 Dalmatians and the pet stores are bombarded with purchases of dogs, cats, bunnies, etc. Then when the newness wears off, animals are not wanted anymore and then they are dropped of along the roads or taken to a shelter. Just not right...this is very upsetting for me to see happen. Okay, I will get of my soap box now!

I know Susan I feel the same way about all our babies.I have kept all our animals until they passed away.I have taken in dogs and cats ,strays that I could not keep for one reason or another, usually one of mine didn't get along with them, but I always found good homes for them and even checked to make sure they were getting along.I went to the pet store this one day and they had the cutest little white female poodle tied to a chair, she was on her hind legs dancing and just so happy to see me,I said boy is she cute. They said if you want her you can have her,I said sure. She had been tied to the front of the pet store and left there.I brought her home and we went to the vet that afternoon, she was shaved down because she had fleas real bad and was a momma that had her last litter about two months ago and she was about 2 years old, this what the vet told me.I took her home my oldest boy was around two, well she didn't like him at all and bit him,so I knew I couldn't keep her and she was adorable. So I wasn't going to take her to the pound so I got out the phone book and started calling groomers in the area to see if one of them wanted her.The second call I made the women said yes she would take her.I gave her to the women free,no charge I was just happy I had found a good home for her.I called that women a few months later and she was so happy with that little dog.So she did get a good home.
