What's on the menu for New Years Eve and New Years Day!

Well seeing that I'm of Eastern European Decent I will be sticking to tradition.New Years Eve we will be having pork roast ,smoked sausage,sauerkraut and mashed potatoes.Dessert will be apple cake.New Years Day we will have stuffed cabbage and mashed potatoes.Dessert will be a Dobos Torte.Not sure of the appetizers yet.

New Year's eve we will be having Chinese food. New Year's day we will be having homemade lasagna and homemade bread with a big salad. We don't do the party scene or go out on what we call "amateur" night. Our son is a police officer and worrying about his safety is bad enough. Nope, we just stay home and eat Chinese and watch a movie.

I cant have alcohol (medical reasons) and I dont stay up to ring in the new year

For the Eve, we usually have lobster and/or crab legs, along with the melted butter, of course! Also usually a baked potato, and a nice fresh tossed salad, and either bread sticks or cheese rolls. Then on New Years Day, we will be having baked ribs which I smother in sauerkraut and chopped cabbage with a generous sprinkle of brown sugar. Don't knock the brown sugar. Try it, you'll like it!!

fresh fruit & hot beverages

potato ancakes (super sized)

yougurt( sour ream substitute

We have been married 32 Years and have not gone out for New Years Eve for at least 30 years.We stay home nice and safe we rarely even stay up until midnight Oh we are getting old:) lol lol lol We have to take a nap before going to bed.

My husband and I don't drink alcohol, and we generally stick close to home on New Year's Eve. He likes salami and cheese on crackers for snacking, and I have turkey and cheese. Pretty boring. lol

I have a lot of ideas but no real plans yet. We usually stay home
and have special meals. We haven't gone out in years. I don't
like to be on the road with a lot of drunk drivers.

We don't really like to go out on New Years Eve because too many people drink and drive! I have invited a few neighbors to enjoy some pasta primavera with shrimp and then we shall enjoy snacks, conversation and hopefully stay awake to usher in the New Year. We usually don't make it, but this year we will give it the old college try! Happy, Healthy New Year to All.

thats why when i go to my sons home i try to get home before 9-------------------------thats about when the fireworks start at the church that i have to pass before my street off a 2-lane farm-market road---------people park all up and down to watch if i'm too late i have to go about 5 miles out of my way to get around ----------------and before most of the drunks are out-------------------------------and my poor dog a mini dock--------- hates fireworks---------------generally i take her to bed early and cuddle to stop her shaking

I love seeing all the different plans and menus for New Years Eve and Day.Some are very different,but a lot of us stay at home.Staying home is a good option.I remember going out on New Years Eve before I was married.The challenge of finding the perfect outfit to wear for a date.It was so exciting back then.I love my quiet married life now and realize all that was to get to where I am today,sharing a nice quiet evening with my dear loving hubby growing old together.I wouldn't trade this for anything in the world.
