1 14 OZ bag caramels ( such as Kraft )
2/3 cup Evaporated Milk
1 18 oz pkg German Chocolate Cake Mix
3/4 cup softened Butter
1 Cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1 120z (2 cups) pkg Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips
Combine caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk in top of double boiler over hot water or in a heavy saucepan. Stir until melted. Combine cake mix, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and butter. Cut in like pie crust until dough holds together. Press 1/2 of dough into a greased 13x9 pan and bake 6 minutes at 350 degrees. Sprinkle with nuts and chocolate chips. Pour caramel mixture over and spread evenly. Crumble remaining other 1/2 of dough evenly over top. Bake 18 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool and cut into squares.
