I couldn't have said it better, Preston. Yes, a big THANK YOU to all of our vets, past and present, for unselfishly serving to protect our country and our precious freedoms. Many of them have given the ultimate sacrifice in doing so....their very lives. My beloved cousin, who was killed in Viet Nam in May 1969, was one of them. To me, he was, and is, a hero.
Thanks, too, to their families who patiently wait for their homecoming and pray for their safety. I can't begin to imagine what it's like to have a member of my own immediate family over there and hear of casualties. May God bless them all!
And thanks for your concerned words to Julie. I'm hoping, too, that we hear something from her soon!
No worry about your spelling error.....we all do it occasionally, but most people know you meant Veterans Day.

And we need to try to make every day Veterans Day ... we need to  respect and pray for our troops all the time.

Our veterans and our current military need all the prayers they can get along with thanks from the entire country.  Too many of our service men and women are not being given the respect or the resources that they need while in the service or after.  Such a shame for our country.

Proud to be an American!  My son is Army reserves, my Ex-husband was active duty Army, my Dad was Navy, and I don't remember what my grandfathers were.

H.M., I totally agree with everything you said. It's so true! God bless our troops....men and women alike. Let's remember to keep them in our prayers daily. I, too, am proud to be an American! I admit we have lost a lot of our freedoms in this country but we are still much better off than most other countries.
