In Response to Re: Vegetable Soup:
Thank you Eva ..... I appreciate a new soup recipe. I LOVE soup. Here's one of my favorites HAM & CABBAGE SOUP 1 meaty ham bone or 2 large ham hocks About 6 cups water (I use canned chicken broth) 1 16 oz can whole tomatoes (I use the already chopped tomatoes) 1/2 tsp dried thyme, crushed 1/2 tsp dried marjoram, crushed 1 large onion chopped 1 cup diced potaotes * 3 cups shredded cabbage salt and pepper to taste Put the ham and water (broth) in a stock pot. Chop tomatoes and add along with their liquid. Add thyme and majoram. Bring to a boil, lower heat and simmer for about 1 1/2 hours or until ham is falling from the bone. Remove ham from the liquid and set aside to cool. Add all the vegetables except the cabbage - simmer about 30 minutes. Meanwhile remove skin and bones from the ham and cut into bite-size pieces and add back to vegs. Add the shredded cabbage, Simmer 25-30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Makes about 6 servings. I always save all left over vegetables in one jar in the freezer. I always dump that into almost any soup I'm making.

Nancy ,thanks for the nice recipe it looks great. I love cabbage and ham.The two together is a winner!
I made a big pot of homemade spaghetti sauce and I added browned pork neck bones and cooked it for about 6 hrs.it was awesome. Bones really add a lot of flavor to soup and sauces.
