 Another price hike iwas predicted on this mornining's TV news
Due to the seasonal"NEED" for icecream & the loss ofvvanilla beans;the price of icecream will be goingUP!again
we bought a container of ice cream, today ; what usedto be a 1/2 gallon[ 64 ounces] is now 48 oz.; that's a pint ( 4 servings) less, product.They cannot pack it in a smaller container or we might notice?
How much more CO$T will they Add to our summer treats?
and what about cookies/&pastry?
How do you plan to react  this new  "cost of living"  nightmare?

 Not much WE/I  can do;
First it's sugar;
 then fuel to bake;PB; chocolate  & now VANILLA a; I guess I'll have to give up baking treats; maybe I'll lose more weight?Perhaps I'll CRY?/DIE?Yell

Too bad we can't grow vanilla beans in our gardens. In Nebraska I don't
think they will grow.

I think vanila beans are related to orchids;if so you might be able to grow them in a green house in the same conditions as orchids;expensive but it could end up being cost effective?Money mouth

When we went to Tahiti, we visited a vanilla bean plantation, and growing vanilla beans is very complicated and risky business.  This particular place they had to pollenate the flowers by hand.  I bought a couple of beans on Moorea, and they were very expensive, but very fresh and not hard. ( not like the ones you get when you buy them "packaged").

i hate going food shopping anymore have to pick what we can afford . not what we need i don't buy steak anymore use all store brands and my food bill can top 100 for 2 people. my ss check don't go far

I guess there isn't much we can do about it.  Everything seems to be going up these days.  I just try to buy what we need and stock up when things go on sale.
